Delete your Nook account
Nook is an Android app published by Lokeshwar Reddy. This page explains how to delete your Nook account and everything stored with it, what is removed, and what stays on your own phone.
How to request deletion
From inside the app
- Open Nook
- Go to Settings (bottom right)
- Scroll to Account
- Tap Delete account and backup
- Confirm when asked
Your account and its backup are deleted immediately. Nothing is queued or held for review.
By email
If you no longer have the app installed, write to support@installnook.app from the Google account you signed in with, asking for your account to be deleted. Requests are actioned within 30 days. We use the sending address only to identify which account to delete, and it is not retained afterwards.
What is deleted
- Your account record — the Google account identifier and email address
- Your backup in full: every saved link, title, description, note, tag, collection, timestamp, and read or archived state that was uploaded
Both are removed from the live database at once. Because a backup exists only as a single row tied to your account, deleting the account deletes the backup with it — there is no history or older copy left behind.
What is kept, and for how long
| Data | What happens |
|---|---|
| Account record and backup | Deleted immediately on request |
| Encrypted database backups held by our hosting provider | Age out automatically within 30 days. They are disaster-recovery snapshots, are never read in normal operation, and are not used to restore a deleted account |
| The saves on your phone | Not touched. Deleting your account removes the server copy only. To remove the local copy, delete items in the app, use Android Settings → Apps → Nook → Storage → Clear data, or uninstall Nook |
Nook keeps no analytics, advertising identifiers or usage logs about you, so there is nothing of that kind left to delete.
Revoking Nook's access to your Google account
Separately from deletion, you can remove Nook's permission to use Google Sign-In at any time from your Google account permissions page. That stops future sign-ins but does not by itself delete data already backed up — use one of the routes above for that.
